| this is an ad from Wine Spectator magazine and you might recognize the Villa - and the wine is a Gambero Rosso Tre Biccherie! (their highest rating) |
A spectacular "open" Wine Bar at The Villa is included with your Tour! So the price you've paid for your Adventures to Tuscany Tour includes unlimited Wines, Proseccos, Beer and Soft Drinks at our bar at The Villa...
We'll have many of the wines that Albola offers, but we'll also have wines from many of the prestigious Wine Estates throughout Chianti, Tuscany and other regions of Italy. And we'll also have some great wines from some of the Zonin Family's other Wine Estates around Italy as well! And this Wine Bar is included in your Tour price! It's OPEN and unlimited, not just for dinner, but all day, everyday, anytime we're at The Villa, up until 11pm. (and we certainly , don't want to shut down a good time, so if there's folks still up and everyone's still being safe and in good shape, we'll leave a few bottles out when we break down & clean up at 11pm... but we always like to remind folks, we'll have a schedule to stick to the next morning).
We like to think that after all these years we've learned a little about Italian Wines, but we actually have a Wine consultant in Radda-in-Chianti that we use to help us pick wines from around the region and around the country! Over the years some have asked; are these the very best Italian wines available? So we like to think so... While we can tell you these are not of course $200 bottles of Brunello & Super Tuscans, but they are very good wines... Most of the wines we bring in for our Wine Bars are award-winning DOC and DOCG rated wines and many of them are upscale Riservas... and some are even Gran Seleziones... Wines that you would typically pay $26 - $80 a bottle for here in the US... If you know Italian wines, you'll recognize many of the labels... Names like Castello di Volpaia, Dievole, Lamole, Cecchi, Verazzano, Rocca Delle Macie, Castello Di Albola, Antinori, Banfi, Badia a' Coltibuono, Fonterutoli, Frescobaldi, etc. These are indeed top names in Italian Wines around the world!

But to really put the value of our open bars into perspective, and to truly appreciate this, one must first understand that on most all of your large mass-market Italy Bus Tours (think Rick Steves, Globus, Collete, Perillo, Trafalgar, etc), they usually only provide half your dinners... and then most of them either include no wine at all, (ie: you must pay for your own) or a single glass of red or white wine at dinner, of what in Italy is called "Fuso" or bulk wine purchased in something similar to a large 5 gallon water bottle or a huge plastic-lined cardboard box, and usually served, in open unmarked carafes, and defined purely as "Red or White"... In Italy, most of these wines are considered "table wines" and here in the states, that's comparable to what we would call "Box Wine". (The enoteca's where they buy these bulk wines actually have "gas station style" self service pumps where they fill the large 20 liter boxes).
On our wine bar at the Villa, you'll see all our upscale wines served from corked & sealed bottles so that you can read the labels, know what your drinking and experience true authentic upscale Italian Wines! You'll also find a large selection of upscale beers (Heineken, Becks, Moretti, Peroni, Nastro Azzurro, Messina, Poretti, Guinness, Stella Artois, etc.) and of course we have soft drinks available at our Bar...
